Thinking in terms of lightweight structures has started to
regain importance. The need for efficiency and productivity
is constantly growing. It becomes increasingly difficult and
expensive to improve traditional metal technologies.
The disciplinairy group 'Design and Production of Composite
Structures' (DPCS) therefore explores new ways to produce
and assemble lightweight components for a variety of applications.
Designing advanced lightweight structures involves knowledge,
experience and inspiration from history, nature and different
cultures.
